We are seeking a skilled and passionate Dimsum Chef Assistant to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in preparing dimsum and possess a strong understanding of dimsum-specific techniques and ingredients. As a Dimsum Chef Assistant, you will work closely with our Head Dimsum Chef to support the preparation and cooking of high-quality dimsum dishes for our restaurant.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Dimsum Chef in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dimsum items, including dumplings, buns, spring rolls, and other traditional dimsum dishes.
• Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure the highest quality and consistency in every dish.
• Prepare and assemble ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and assembling fillings for dimsum.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dimsum prep area.
• Assist in steaming, frying, and pan-frying dimsum items as per specific recipes and customer orders.
• Ensure all dimsum dishes are made in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining quality.
• Monitor inventory levels of dimsum ingredients and notify the Head Dimsum Chef when supplies need to be replenished.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by adhering to health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service.

• Previous experience in a dimsum kitchen or related culinary experience.
• Strong knowledge of dimsum preparation techniques, ingredients, and cooking methods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on quality control.
• Ability to follow recipes and take direction from the Head Dimsum Chef.
• A passion for dimsum and dedication to culinary excellence.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with hand-made dumplings and other intricate dimsum items.
• Knowledge of Cantonese or Chinese cuisine is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
