Job Summary:

The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the upkeep, safety, and operational efficiency of all Gigahertz stores and office locations. This role ensures all sites are properly maintained, promptly attends to repair and renovation needs, and leads the construction and fit-out of new stores. The Facility Manager also manages contractor selection, compares bids, and coordinates with architects and designers to ensure store construction and renovations are completed according to brand standards, timelines, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

Store & Office Maintenance:

  • Oversee and coordinate all repairs, maintenance, and improvements across existing stores and offices.
  • Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance program for all physical assets (lighting, air conditioning, fixtures, minor carpentry, etc.).
  • Maintain a system for tracking branch requests, service levels, and work progress to ensure issues are resolved promptly and cost-effectively.

New Store Construction & Fit-Out:

  • Lead the planning and execution of new store construction and office renovations.
  • Evaluate and compare contractor bids and negotiate costs and timelines.
  • Coordinate with architects, designers, mall or building administrators, and suppliers to ensure alignment on construction plans and schedules.
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure quality and adherence to approved plans, timelines, and budgets.

Vendor & Contractor Management:

  • Manage service contracts (e.g., repair services, aircon cleaning, pest control, etc.) and ensure all vendors perform according to agreed standards.
  • Build and maintain a pool of reliable contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Ensure documentation of all warranties, maintenance logs, contracts, and permits.

Budgeting & Reporting:

  • Prepare and manage annual maintenance and construction budgets.
  • Track and report actual expenses vs. budget; identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide regular status updates to the leadership team on ongoing projects, completed repairs, and upcoming needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing facilities or construction projects, ideally in a retail or multi-branch setting.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Experience in contractor bidding, vendor negotiation, and construction oversight.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and designs.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel to various store locations nationwide.

Preferred Skills & Traits:

  • Knowledge of mall or commercial leasing construction requirements.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with facilities management software or tracking systems.
