We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to provide dedicated support for one of the largest global independent studios, renowned for its innovative and immersive gaming experiences and commitment to delivering next-generation AAA games.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure and Kubernetes-based platforms that are massively scalable and highly reliable
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment of microservices to Kubernetes clusters
• Serve as a technical escalation point for platform and infrastructure issues
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure as code and GitOps practices
• Monitor and enhance the performance, reliability, and security of our Kubernetes ecosystem
• Champion DevOps and platform engineering best practices throughout the organization
• Mentor junior platform engineers and share knowledge across teams
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure platform stability
• Create comprehensive documentation for platform services, components, and processes

Requirements:

• Strong background in software development or site reliability engineering
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
• Proven experience designing and implementing platform engineering solutions
• Expert knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, containerd)
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Pulumi)
• Strong scripting skills using languages like Python, Go, or Bash
• Experience with GCP services, particularly GKE, Cloud Build, Cloud Storage, and IAM
• Demonstrated experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring)
• Experience implementing service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
• Knowledge of secrets management and security best practices in Kubernetes environments
• Understanding of GitOps workflows and tools (Flux, ArgoCD)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Solid understanding of networking concepts in Kubernetes and cloud environments
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills and commitment to continuous improvement

Pluses:

• Experience with multi-cluster and hybrid-cloud Kubernetes deployments
• GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Kubernetes certification
• Experience with Kubernetes operators and custom resource definitions (CRDs)
• Knowledge of advanced Kubernetes concepts (admission controllers, custom schedulers)
• Familiarity with game publishing infrastructure requirements
• Experience with high-performance computing workloads on Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with database operations on Kubernetes (StatefulSets, operators)
• Experience with Kubernetes-native CI/CD tools (Tekton)
• Contributions to open-source Kubernetes projects or cloud-native ecosystem
• Experience working with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones
• Background in implementing machine learning operations (MLOps) on Kubernetes
• Passion for online games and gaming culture is a plus.
