Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Traffic Management Engineer to support construction supervision activities on a major bridge or highway infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in traffic planning and control during large-scale construction works, ensuring safe and efficient vehicular and pedestrian movement throughout the project lifecycle.


  • Develop, implement, and monitor Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) in coordination with contractors and relevant authorities.
  • Review and approve traffic diversion schemes and site-specific traffic control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and minimize disruption to public traffic during construction.
  • Conduct traffic impact assessments and recommend mitigation measures where necessary.
  • Coordinate with local traffic enforcement agencies and stakeholders to facilitate smooth traffic flow.
  • Provide expert guidance on signage, barriers, detours, and road closures.
  • Monitor and report on traffic-related incidents and suggest corrective actions.
  • Support the project team with technical input related to traffic control during construction phases.

Requirements

  • Registered Civil Engineer with valid license or certification from a recognized authority.
  • Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field is an added advantage.


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Traffic Management Engineer in the construction supervision of bridge or highway projects.
  • Familiarity with regional traffic codes, safety guidelines, and construction traffic best practices.


Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Proven ability to manage traffic safety and logistics on active construction sites.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under dynamic field conditions.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, particularly with public agencies.
  • Proficiency in traffic simulation or planning tools is a plus (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM).
  • Detail-oriented and proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
