Role Description

As a Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, performance, and efficiency of our database systems. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining comprehensive database documentation, identifying and implementing database requirements in collaboration with various teams, and optimizing database performance through the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for data elements and tables in the PIM solution.
  • Identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications by working collaboratively with other teams.
  • Optimize database performance and efficiency by evaluating and recommending new database technologies.
  • Support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and troubleshooting queries by guiding them with best practices.
  • Execute regular database maintenance tasks, including database defragmentation and optimization.
  • Develop and implement processes for SQL-related deliverables and enhancements.
  • Collaboration with colleagues in SRE and Development to improve SQL governance


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in database administration or in a similar role.
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning, performance optimization and data security.
  • In-depth knowledge & experience in SQL
  • Knowledge in working with Azure SQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide quick solutions to issues.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to use a scripting language (like PowerShell) to automate database administration tasks.
