POSITION SUMMARY

• The BIM Operator is responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining accurate Building Information Models (BIM) and technical drawings to support architectural, engineering, and construction teams. Working under the guidance of BIM Coordinators or Project Leads, the BIM Operator uses software such as Revit and AutoCAD to produce detailed 2D and 3D models that support project planning, coordination, and execution. The role requires a strong attention to detail, knowledge of design and construction standards, and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and modify 3D models using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Prepare technical drawings, plans, and documentation from BIM models.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure model accuracy and consistency.
• Assist in the coordination and clash detection process between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Update models and drawings based on design revisions and construction changes.
• Follow BIM standards, templates, and project-specific guidelines.
• Maintain organized file management and ensure accurate data entry.
• Assist in extracting quantities and other data from models for project use.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or certificate in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with Navisworks, BIM 360, or other BIM tools is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of construction methods and design standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks for 3D modeling, drafting, and coordination.
• Understanding of construction and design principles, including architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
• Knowledge of BIM standards and documentation protocols (e.g., LOD, ISO 19650, file naming conventions).
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
