This role builds and leads a practice area or has specialist expertise for which you are known in the marketplace. The role monitors the KPMG-broad services to the assigned client portfolio and works on and leads business development objectives to expand work opportunities. The incumbent establishes themselves as a leader within service line or sector and leads practice decision making including resource allocation, career development of people and other people management decisions. The role actively collaborates within the firm through engagements and networks.
Overview
Initially, this role continues to take guidance from Managers and above in the execution of work activities on engagements, including contributing to the overall preparing, planning and delivery of engagement planning and administration.
With increased experience, the role oversees and executes multiple client engagements or components of some larger engagements, as well as individually contributing quality work on the engagement. It provides technical knowledge, direction and training to people, and includes delegating, reviewing and working with team members with less experience. The role coordinates engagement management and effectively contributes to achieving revenue and profit objections, engagement realisation and the allocation of resources. It involves day to day management of team members on engagements, including coaching and providing constructive feedback. The role requires effective communication to team members and the engagement manager during the engagement life cycle.The role begins to build on networks across the practice and increases skills in people development activities.

Duties & Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager, duties & responsibilities will include:
•Providing Australian tax and accounting advice and solutions to a diverse portfolio which includes small to medium sized entities, family and privately owned businesses, trusts and partnerships, foreign subsidiaries and small listed entities.
•Further developing your technical expertise working across services including Australian tax and accounting compliance and business/tax advisory work for middle market clients.
•Playing a key role across the full scope of client engagements including regular client contact and attending client presentations and meetings with senior leaders.
Expertise & Qualifications
To fulfil this role, the applicant will have the following attributes:
•Strong technical knowledge and exposure to Australian taxation and accounting legislation and associated requirements.
•3 to 4 years’ experience working in a similar corporate environment.
•CA or CA equivalent qualified or in the process of completion.
•Have a relevant tertiary or post-grad qualification.
•Possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal qualities.
•Display initiative and be excited to help create innovative solutions in a changing world of service delivery.
•Possess a passion for ongoing learning.
•Possess an ability to establish and develop effective professional relationships.
•Be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience your area.
