Job Description: Senior Accountant (AU Tax & Compliance)

Salary php 80,000 to 90,000

1. Role Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the end-to-end preparation of financial statements and tax returns for a diverse portfolio of Australian entities, including Individuals, Partnerships, Trusts, Companies, and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs). You will provide high-level compliance support and proactive tax planning advice.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Preparation: Prepare year-end financial statements and workpapers to Australian Accounting Standards.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and lodge Income Tax Returns (ITR), Business Activity Statements (BAS), and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
• Specialized Tax Tasks: Manage Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT) calculations, and Division 7A compliance (for private company loans).
• Liaison: Coordinate directly with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and clients to resolve queries or manage audits.
• Advisory: Assist in tax planning, cash flow forecasting, and "Virtual CFO" services for Australian SMEs.
• Leadership: Review the work of Junior Accountants/Bookkeepers and provide technical mentorship.

3. Technical Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy; CPA (PH) is typically required. Progress toward CA/CPA Australia is a major advantage.
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience specifically in Australian Public Practice or an AU-focused BPO.
• Software Proficiency: * Accounting: Xero (Certified), MYOB, or QuickBooks Online.
• Tax/Practice: Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Class Super, BGL (Simple Fund/CAS 360).
• Skills: Strong understanding of Australian GST, Payroll Tax, and Small Business Entities (SBE) concessions.
